Planned launching Sunday April 4th, Easter Weekend.
Welcome Alumni

Things are on the move again. The website has been around since about 2003. I had spent considerable amount of time working on the website back in the beginning. I thought it turned out quite well and so did a lot of other alumni. No worries right? You bet.. Except I forgot about those who live on the web doing bad things.. After a year or so, hackers got into this website and used it to spam others. After several attempts to keep them out, I decided I was not smarter. I took down the website interactivity and left it as a search only web page. It was not my intention on leaving it that way but things happen that are unforeseen. With all our biological kids grown up , through college and on their own, my wife (Mary) and I decided to adopt a baby girl we had fallen in love with while we were caring for her. Well, five years have passed. There is nothing in this world worth more than a child's love and smile.. She really keeps us on the go....
Always remember the bench mark of success is not always measured in what schooling you have, but what you make of it when you leave.....
I hope you enjoy the website. I sure have had fun making it happen...
Thanks for your patience..

The Ainsworth Alumni Scholarship Fund has been in existence since 1986. Since that time, we have presented 43 scholarships to deserving AHS seniors. In August of 2005, the fund became an endowed fund with the Brown County Foundation. All the criteria remain the same and only the earnings on the fund are used for the scholarships. As of December 31, 2009, the fund balance was $35,429.28.
The recipient of this years scholarship is Tessa Jacobsen, daughter of Tami and Stan Jacobsen of Ainsworth. Tessa plans to major in music at the University of Nebraska/Omaha in the fall. She will receive an $850 scholarship.
For several years, Niels McDermott of Grand Island (Class of 1961) has organized an “Old Geezers Shootout” between Ainsworth and Valentine with the proceeds going to the scholarship fund. This years’ shootout brought in $9509. We would like to thank everyone who has supported this fund through the years and hope that you will continue to do so. It is through your generosity that we are able to award these scholarships each year.
If you would like to make a donation to this fund, you may do so by making your check payable to the Brown County Foundation for the Ainsworth Alumni Scholarship Fund and sending it to the Brown County Foundation, PO Box 323, Ainsworth, NE, 69210.
